Santa Catalina Cork Oak Forest

This area is made up of a beautiful cork oak pasture on the slopes of the Sierra de Santa Catalina, interspersed with mixed forest of broadleaf and coniferous trees, as well as Mediterranean undergrowth scrub as one ascends the sierra.
In the heart of this cork oak forest one finds the Great Cork Oak and the Ermita de Santa Catalina, to where a pilgrimage is held annually in honour of this saint.
