From this pass in the Sierra de Enmedio one can enjoy magnificent views of the western part of the Monfragüe National Park.
Formerly, prisoners sentenced to exile were abandoned to their fate here. As they would inevitably succumb to either the bandits or the packs of hungry wolves roaming the area, this was practically a death sentence.
