Route 1 – De la Sierra

Hiking Trails MTB Routes Horse Trails

This route runs through the Santa Catalina mountains and features numerous points and details that illustrate part of the history of this region, as well as several picnic areas and viewpoints.

Ascending to the top of the range, one comes across the 16th century Santa Ana Chapel and an area of olive groves where the “Treasure of Serradilla” from the Tartessian period was discovered.

Once at the top of the mountains, one can find the “Plau del Obispu” monument, where the Serradilla Christ and his carriers rested on their way to Serradilla.
A flat path, with incomparable panoramic views, then leads to the Cross of the Centuries, La Casetina and the Cancho del Lobo. There are also some cave paintings along this route.

Finally, the descent follows the Camino del Rancho, with the entry point into Serradilla being the Fuente Nueva (New Fountain). The end point of this route is the Sanctuary of the Blessed Cristo de la Victoria, listed as a National Historical and Cultural Monument.
